“Benchmarking the nuclear labor relations function"

 

The Nuclear Labor Relations group was formed at the NHRG Conference in March 2001 co-hosted in Orlando, FL with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).  A nuclear labor relation’s project was formed to complete the following charter & project objectives.  The group established a steering committee at the next Annual Conference hosted by Southern Company in Mobile, AL

The NHRG Labor Relation’s Project Charter is:

“Maintain the NHRG web page implemented in August, 2003 to post and search for nuclear collective bargaining agreements as well as provide a forum for labor relations professionals to communicate regarding nuclear labor relations issues”

The NHRG Labor Relation’s Project Objectives are:

  • Benchmark Nuclear Labor Relation’s Issues: provide a forum to discuss benchmarking issues in the area of nuclear labor relation’s negotiations, grievances and arbitration issues.

  • Nuclear Collective Bargaining Unit Agreements (CBA): maintain nuclear collective bargaining unit agreements for the nuclear plants.  An updated disk is provided at the annual conference to include all updated CBAs and the CBA Comparisons.  The CBA status is included on the NHRG Labor Relations contact list.

  • Nuclear CBA Comparisons (by nuclear plant site): this project was implemented by Exelon Nuclear and is maintained by the NHRG Project Manager.  The comparison includes each CBA and provides a comparison of wage increases (5 yr trend), hourly wages for some key positions, vacation/sick time by yrs experience, standard holidays, benefits, etc.
